PicTake — Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
PicTake is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and store your information. Our Terms of Service govern use of the App.
2. Information We Collect
- Phone Number: collected during registration for account verification via SMS
- Device Contacts: if you grant permission, names and phone numbers from your address book so you can see which contacts already use PicTake and invite others
- Text Prompts: the descriptions you write to generate images
- Photos: images you take or upload within the App
- Payment Information: processed securely through Apple App Store
- Usage Data: how you interact with the App
- Device Information: device type, operating system version
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the App
- Verify your identity via SMS
- Help you find friends who already use PicTake and invite contacts who do not
- Prevent fraud and abuse including multiple account creation
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Improve AI image generation quality
4. Phone Number Retention
Phone numbers are retained even after account deletion for fraud prevention purposes for up to 12 months. This is necessary to prevent users from creating multiple accounts to circumvent generation limits. This data is stored securely and is never used for marketing purposes.
5. Contacts Access and Invites
With your permission, PicTake may read contacts from your device (names and phone numbers) to show which people already have the App and which you can invite. Matching is performed on your device by comparing contact phone numbers with users already connected to you in PicTake. We do not upload your full address book to our servers for this matching.
Invites are sent only when you choose to invite someone. The App may open your device messaging app with a pre-filled invite message; you decide whether to send it. We do not automatically message your contacts. You can revoke contacts access at any time in your device settings. If you revoke access, PicTake will stop reading your address book.
We do not sell your contacts and do not use your address book for advertising.
6. Third-Party Services
- Replicate: receives text prompts to generate AI images
- Firebase: used for phone number verification, user data storage, and real-time messaging
- Apple App Store: processes all payments
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Device contact data used for on-device matching is processed on your device and is not retained by us as a copy of your full address book. Users can delete their account directly within the App by navigating to Profile → Delete Account. Upon deletion, all personal data will be removed within 30 days except phone numbers which are retained for up to 12 months for fraud prevention purposes. 8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
PicTake is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Parents who believe their child has provided data should contact pictake.app@gmail.com
9. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. No method of transmission is 100% secure.
10. User Rights
Users may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data by contacting us at pictake.app@gmail.com
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents may request to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sales. We do not sell personal data. Contact: pictake.app@gmail.com
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as we introduce new features or change our data practices. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
